Field

The sub-menu lists the most common field types that can be inserted into a document at the current cursor position. To view all of the available fields, choose More Fields.

To access this command...

Choose Insert - Field

Open context menu - choose Fields (inserted fields)

Page Number

Inserts the current page number as a field at the cursor position. The default setting is for it to use the Page Number character style.

Page Count

Inserts as a field the total number of pages in the document.

Date

Inserts the current date as a field. The default date format is used, and the date is not automatically updated.

Time

Inserts the current time as a field. The time is taken directly from the system settings of your operating system. A fixed time format is applied, which cannot be updated by using the F9 function key.

Title

Inserts the title specified in the document properties as a field. This field displays the data entered in the Title field under File - Properties - Description.

First Author (field)

Inserts the name of the person who created the document here as a field. The field applies the entry made under Tools - Options - Office - User data.

Subject

Inserts the subject specified in the document properties as a field . This field displays the data entered in the Subject field under File - Properties - Description.

More Fields

Inserts a field at the current cursor position. The dialogue box lists all available fields.
