Define the light source for the selected 3-D object.
Illumination
Open the context menu of the 3-D object, choose 3-D Effects - Illumination tab.
Specify the light source for the object, as well as the colour of the light source and of the ambient light. You can define up to eight different light sources.
Click twice to turn the light source on, and then select a colour for the light from the list. If you want, you can also set the colour of the surrounding light, by selecting a colour from the Ambient light box. You can also press the Spacebar to turn the light source on or off.

Select a colour for the current light source.
Office lets you define custom colours using a two-dimensional graphic and numerical gradient chart of the Pick a Colour dialogue box.
Press the Colour Dialogue Box button in the Illumination tab of the 3-D Effects dialogue box.

Displays a preview of the current selection.
Use this icon to convert a selected 2D object to a 3D object. You can also select several 2D objects and convert them to one single 3D object. To convert a group of 2D objects to 3D, you must first ungroup the selected objects.
